Svalbard Art Centre
Preliminary study for an art center in Longyearbyen, Svalbard. In one of the world's northernmost inhabited places, an art center is planned, containing an art gallery, studios, a restaurant and visitor apartments for artists. The roof terraces built in with generous greenhouses climb up along the building. Here, climate protected greenhouse spaces are created for art activities, gardens, Northern Lights views and, perhaps, the world's northernmost tomato and lettuce cultivations.
This is a Greenhouse Living project.
